HEAT AND COOL EFFICIENTLY WITH RADIATION
The use of thermally active ceilings for heating and cooling has proven itself for many years. With these systems, high cooling and heating loads are dissipated economically while ensuring a high degree of thermal comfort. Due to heat protection ordinance , buildings are now better insulated. This results in a lower demand for heating and thus in reduced CO2 emissions and energy costs. The high quality insolation of a modern building can hardly dissipate heat to the outside. However, office rooms, technical equipment and people working in them, usually have very high internal loads, which must be dissipated to the outside. The Sunline company has developed a system that combines all the advantages of radiant heating and radiative cooling into one:
Function
Kjøling Varme
The dissipation of the cooling load of a room can be cooled by inserting air or component cooling. If the room ceiling in whole or in part is brought to a certain temperatures below the room temperature, one speaks of a cooling panel. The cooling of the component is usually done by water or air circulation. A cooling panel always works directly on the heat sources in the room (radiation), but also on the air (convection).´Depending on the structure of the cooling panels and the air movement in space, the proportions of radiation and convection vary.
HEATING AND COOLING PANELS
Energy savings
The advantage of the radiation panels lies in the influence on the room temperature. The perceived room temperature depends on the ambient air temperature and the temperature of the room-enclosing surfaces . With a radiant heating, temperature differences of up to 3 Kelvin can be achieved at room temperature. Lowering the room temperature by 1 K corresponds to an energy saving of about 6%. The energy consumption is lower because a water circulation transports energy more efficiently than air.
Comfort
The heating and cooling panels offer advantages over conventional ventilation and air conditioning system-systems, the advantages in terms of greater comfort due to several factors. First, the lower supply air, which is determined by the minimum air exchange and not by the cooling load. This leads to lower air velocities. A heating and cooling panel is able to establish a largely uniform vertical temperature profile in the room. In addition, people dissipate up to 50% of its surplus heat by radiation to the surrounding areas. Thus, a cooling ceiling system is similar to the physiological heat dissipation of the human being.
Efficiency
Studies show that the room temperature has a decisive influence on the performance of human beings (see diagram). An increase of the room temperature results in a lack of concentration and the mobility, dexterity and concentration decreases noticeably. Therefore, the legislator has prescribed a maximum ambient temperature of 26 ° C.
INTEGRATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES
Due to the low system temperatures of cooling and heating panels, environmentally friendly geothermal resources can be used.
Variants
SUNLINE ALULINE PANEL (TYPE B)
Sunline Aluline radiant ceiling panels consist of either single element up to a maximum length of 3000mm or of pressed or soldered single plates. When designing a room with Sunline Aluline radiant ceiling panels, the expected pressure loss should be considered. The maximum length of a panel with one-side connection must not exceed 40m. For mutual connection, the panel band should be no longer than 75m.
SUNLINE ALULINE HEATING AND COOLING PANEL IN SAIL SHAPE (TYPE KS)
The dimensions and the size of a heating and cooling Aluline sail can be chosen freely due to the flexible arrangement of the item lengths. Due to the trouble-free production of miter cuts, an optimal adaptation to the structural conditions and arrangement designs can be achieved. In optical terms, the result is a uniform area. The range of application are especially where high architectural demands are made as in conference rooms, exhibitions, foyers, car dealerships, offices, etc.
SUNLINE ALULINE CLIMATE RADIANT CEILING PANELS (TYP GK)
Similar to the Aluline sails, the heating and cooling panels of the Sunline Aluline climate ceiling is determined by the structural conditions and arrangement designs. The customer can freely adjust the dimensions according to the local conditions. The heating and cooling panels can be covered on the underside with plasterboard. Then, a coating may be omitted. Any expansion joints are calculated and considered by default. The wall socket is covered by a specific Sunline adjusting element. Through the use of the perforated Aluline, excellent room acoustic properties can be obtained and can reduce the reverberation time significantly. When using plasterboard, it is important to meet the respective manufacturer’s specifications regarding the maximum flow temperature. Recommended is a maximum flow temperature of 45°C.
SUNLINE ALULINE SEMICIRCULAR
The Aluline Semicircular ceiling panel forms an architectural highlight due to their extraordinarily design. The arched panels allow for realizing lengths up to 40m with one-sided or 75m with two-sided connection. Moreover, Aluline Semicircular has a maximum height of 120mm and is available in 650mm and 850mm width. Sunline Semicircular panels show their best advantage in foyers and specific workplaces environment.
